Pride and the Sacred Self

Honoring the Summer Solstice & the Radiance Within

In the Northern Hemisphere, as the sun reaches its peak and the days stretch long, we welcome in the Summer Solstice, overlapping in such a luxurious way, with Pride Month; both sacred thresholds of light, expression, and embodied truth. In Celtic traditions, this is a time of illumination and boldness, when the Earth is fully awake and growing all that will sustain us, and we are invited to be, too.

Whether you're embracing your identity, exploring new aspects of yourself, or releasing old narratives to step more fully into your authentic Self, this is a powerful moment to pause and ask: What part of me is longing to be seen?

The Sacred Work of Showing Up

The world we live in often teaches us to shrink, to perform, and to quiet the voice of our soul in favor of “fitting in.” But there’s a deeper truth beneath those expectations - one that doesn’t rely on external permission. That truth is your Divine Self Expression.

When fully expressed, we experience a way of being, creating, and loving that is deeply sacred. When we live out of alignment with our personal truth, we may experience patterns of burnout, confusion, or a persistent sense of disconnection.

Pride Beyond the Rainbow

For those reclaiming their personhood, identity, gender, or orientation, whether for the first time or the hundredth, Pride is not just a celebration. It is and has always been a sacred act of rebellion. It’s the refusal to make ourselves smaller for the sake of someone else’s comfort. It’s the embodiment of wholeness.

As an Internal Family Systems therapist, (IFS) speaks to this beautifully. Within us, we all have parts—inner voices or aspects that carry beliefs, burdens, memories, and dreams. You might have a part that learned to hide. A part that still fears rejection. A part that longs to express freely, love deeply, wear that bright lipstick or soft shirt, speak that truth, dance that dance.

This solstice, you don’t have to force any of them into the light. But you can sit with them. You can ask, What do you need from me? You can respond to these longings from a Self-led place - the centered, compassionate, intuitive part of you that already knows the way home.

Soulful Reflection for the Solstice

  • What part of you has been hiding in the shadows?

  • Where have you been living according to someone else’s expectations?

  • What would it feel like to live more soul-aligned—not just in theory, but in your day-to-day choices?

You Are Whole, Just as You Are

Whether you’re unfolding into new aspects of your identity, deepening your spiritual path, or simply seeking greater alignment, your journey is valid. Like the turning of the seasons, your path has its own rhythm. Your path, like the wheel of the year, is cyclical. Some seasons are for sprouting. Some are for blossoming. Some are for rest.

The Summer Solstice reminds us to honor the parts of ourselves that are ready to shine, without abandoning the ones still gathering courage.

If you're longing for support as you reconnect with your inner light, I'm here. Whether through counseling, Soul Realignment®, or the gentle witnessing of your parts - I walk beside you, not to fix, but to illuminate.

Wishing you a Summer Solstice and Pride full of truth, courage, and radiant belonging.
